Martin Barrall - Painter

Biography

Martin sold his first painting in 1969 whilst studying his Art on an Art Foundation course. He could often be found on a Sunday morning on the Bayswater Road selling  his hand-made posters and paintings.

Martin then studied Art in London from 1971 to 1974 after initially working as a graphic designer, then became an Art teacher and Art Lecturer before painting full time. He Studied for a Masters Degree in 1996.

Martin has continued to work on and develop his style ever since the early days.  His paintings are generally on the large side, usually on canvas in acrylics, which he finds to be a great medium for his painterly style and which he combines with fine detail work in the same paintings.

For the last two years his work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Piccadilly London Summer Exhibition. (Bradley at his Tea Hut in Epping Forest) hung in 2018. now sold to the Epping Forest Museum.
